What to Expect

If you’ve never experienced a portrait creation session at Blue Sky Images, you are probably wondering what to expect.
Ryan and Vickie Fellows are the owners of the studio and the only photographers for the studio. Vickie photographs all of the families, children, newborns and maternity portraits. Ryan keeps busy with corporate sessions, events and seniors.
We are located at 7900 San Pedro NE in suite B-1, one block south of Paseo del Norte. Our studio is in a brand new building with high celings, wood floors and lots of window light; it's a comfortable atmosphere where you can feel at home in front of the camera.
We keep few props; we make your child the focus of our portraits.

Consultation & Booking
Your session begins before you even visit the studio. The process starts with a phone, email or in-person consultation where we will discuss the upcoming portrait creation session. This allows us to get a sense of your goals and desires before we even pick up the camera. Please review our portfolio and blog to get familiar with our style. Your portrait session fees are due when you reserve your date and time. You may reserve your session with cash, check or credit card. Payment must be received upon scheduling your session otherwise your appointment cannot be held.

Scheduling Your Session
Your portraits can be created either in our studio, at your home, or the outdoor location of your choice. Outdoor photo sessions are scheduled for early morning or late afternoon to take advantage of the best light. Midday sun is harsh and unflattering, unless it's overcast. In-home portraits may be created with natural light or studio lighting.

Children do best when they are well rested and fed. Please select a time that doesn't interrupt your child's natural routine. Schedule your session before or after their nap and after a meal. Newborn sessions may last up to 2 hours to allow for feedings, diaper changes and breaks from the camera. We offer special newborn session times to accomodate your new family. Due to the personal nature of pregnancy portraits, maternity sessions are only offered with Vickie and her female assistants.

When you reserve your session date and time you will receive additional information including clothing recommendations, session tips and studio policies. For studio sessions you will also receive directions to the studio. In the event of bad weather, sickness (yours or mine), your session may be rescheduled.

Ordering & Payment
Your images will be ready for your review within 1-3 days of your session. We will schedule a time for you to come back for your viewing appointment after your session. We offer a discount for orders placed during your first viewing appointment; ask for details. We will archive all of your images for 2 years following your session.

For payment, we accept cash, check and credit cards. Payment in full is required when placing your order or special payment plans can be arranged.

Prints & Specialty Items
Traditional prints will be ready for pickup or shipping within 2-3 weeks. Please allow additional time for specialty items such as albums and frames.
